Brisco Enterprises has been operating their cow/calf operation since 1962. In the summer, their herd of about 75 cattle grazes on pastures across 750 acres of land. In winter, they feed the herd hay harvested from their farm, which operates under an Environmental Farm Plan. They do not use antibiotics or hormones, and have been members of the Verified Beef Production Plus program since 2009. They process the whole cow into ground beef, which they sell in one and five pound packages. Read More...

First established in the 1960s, Winderberry Nursery came under the care of green-thumbed, thoughtful-hearted Jack Steedman and Glenda Wah in 1984. From two greenhouses, 2,500 square feet and a sell-out by June of that first year, the business has expanded over 35+ years to 25,000 square feet of greenhouse space along with a nursery specializing in hardy trees, shrubs and perennials, operating from March through October every year.
We are a family-owned and -operated business providing both commercial and retail customers with innovative plant material and design. Winderberry is one of the largest independent garden centres in the Windermere Valley. We are stewards of the horticultural industry, trying to be as mindful as possible about our environment and health of our community. In 41 years of business, we have never used a chemical herbicide or pesticide on our property, nor have we promoted or sold such products.
Edible Acres Café is surrounded by the greenery of Winderberry’s nursery. We honour the earth and our farmers with our commitment to using organic ingredients, sourcing humanely-raised and hormone-free meat, and cooking with the bounty of fresh vegetables that come directly harvested from our on-site Edible Acres Farm. We are proud of our ability to harvest, create, prepare, cook, and serve a meal from produce grown right here, adding other locally sourced ingredients when we need to.
