GROUNDSWELL GREENHOUSE AND COMMUNITY GARDENS | 1535 14th St, Invermere
The Groundswell Community Gardens are managed by the team at Groundswell Network Society. Groundswell members receive priority access to renting garden plots, but the gardens are open to the community as space allows. The beds are approximately 4ft. x 8ft. in size or 2.44m. x 1.22m. They are secure behind a deer proof, locked fence, and are ideal for new gardeners or for the seasoned gardener who may not have a fenced yard at home. There are also options for raised garden beds, that are keyholed for accessibility and suitable for annual food production. The annual cost is $65 and includes a Groundswell Network Membership and one garden bed rental. MOUNT NELSON COMMUNITY GARDENS | 1500 14th St, Invermere
The Mount Nelson Garden was created by the District of Invermere and is on School Board Land. Groundswell has volunteered to coordinate the overseeing of this site. The beds are approximately 4ft. x 8ft. in size or 2.44m. x 1.22m. They are secure behind a deer proof, locked fence, and are ideal for new gardeners or for the seasoned gardener who may not have a fenced yard at home. The annual cost is $65 and includes a Groundswell Network Membership and one garden bed rental. ROTARY GARDENS | 7511 Columbia Avenue, Radium Hot Springs
This garden has a gazebo, garden shed, composters, rose garden, a communal garden area, and 40 raised beds. Open to community members for gardening, it has also become a tourist attraction and a venue for photographers, wedding parties and other events as it is such a peaceful and beautiful space. If you are interested in being on the wait list for a garden bed, please email rotarygardensradium@outlook.com. Gardeners must be property owners or tenants in Radium. There is an annual fee and gardener’s must abide by the Gardener’s Handbook.
